We were delighted to have representatives from the NCCA (National Council for Curriculum & Assessment) visit St. Joseph’s last week as part of the broader review of senior cycle.

At present, the NCCA is redeveloping a number of subjects and as part of this, St. Joseph’s is supporting the NCCA with the development of the background paper and brief for the review of two subjects: History and Design and Communication Graphics.

Separate meetings took place between NCCA representatives and the following:

  • school leadership

  • focus group with subject teachers

  • focus group with students

Meetings took place to gather evidence related to the decision-making for the redevelopment of these subjects at senior cycle and furthermore to generate a willingness towards working towards an agreed vision for these subjects.
