Result of Consultation Process on Catholic Second Level Education in Castlebar.

The Patrons of St. Joseph’s Secondary School, Castlebar and St Gerald’s College, have decided that, following a comprehensive consultation with all stakeholders, both schools will continue as standalone single-sex schools. The Boards of both Trusts request that the Board Of Management and Senior Leadership of both schools explore all areas of enhanced cooperation with a view to broadening the curricular and extra-curricular provision for students in both schools. This increased cooperation to include the sharing of resources and facilities. The Boards of Management of both schools will work together to oversee this process.
